As many countries have begun easing Covid-19 restrictions and economies are starting to open up, some governments have introduced the concept of ‘social bubbles’ to help people cope with isolation. The general principle of this bubble is that each household is allowed to interact with only one or two other families. The idea behind this is to help ease emotional distress caused due to physical separation from one’s loved ones. Maintaining similarity across contacts, such as only interacting with people who live within the same neighbourhood, and decreasing ties as occasional acquaintances were found to be highly effective when compared to reducing contact at random.
This is possible at Atali Ganga, 30 kms upstream from Rishikesh and a 5-6 hr drive from Delhi/NCR built for physical distancing, be it in its inherent structure, the spread of the property, the training of the team, in your experiences & your stay. We have made it possible by following guidelines that get you to finally enjoy the great outdoors in comfort and safety.

Is Uttarakhand allowing tourists?
Yes, Uttarakhand Unlock rules allow you to travel to us with a minimum booking of 2 nights. As per the latest order you need an epass and a negative RTPCR test report.Rules change so best check in with us!
Is a Covid test required?
As per the latest order released on April 2021, a Covid test is required to visit Uttarakhand.
Do I need to apply or register on any website?
Yes, please register on the Uttarakhand web portal via the Dehradun Smart City website as a tourist along with our hotel confirmation voucher plus your dates of travel. You can also get in touch with us and we’ll help with the procedures.

What all should I carry during my trip to Atali Ganga?
Here is a checklist of what you should have:
- Aarogya Setu App on your smartphone indicating you as Green (safe/covid negative)
- E-registration print-out from the Uttarakhand-Dehradun smart city portal for yourself / your family/travellers coming with you.
- Hotel voucher with reservation dates and confirmation number (our team will give you this post booking)
What is Atali Ganga doing to keep its guests safe during their holiday in Rishikesh?

Our three acre property houses twenty two well appointed, comfortable, air-conditioned cottages (no common ac ducts) with breathtaking view of the Ganges valley and the mighty Himalayas ideal for physical distancing. We have taken care to ensure we stay safe as we work and play at Atali. We will arrange a temperature check, and disinfecting of vehicle, luggage upon arrival, and have sanitised toilets ready for use on arrival.
Our common areas at the lobby, conference, café, poolside, evening sit-out etc are planned to keep physical distancing in mind. Unless you are in each other’s bubble or know each other’s travel/quarantine history, it’s best practice to maintain that. We have hand sanitizing available at all common areas, these are hands-free so please use them before opening doors. Your room is sanitized and cleaned for your stay, your key has been UV disinfected, should you have any items that need the treatment please ask us on arrival.
You can keep valuables in the safe, and can leave cottage doors unlocked, we have no neighborhood and are safer than most parts of the world. If you would not like turndown service, let us know, as, under current circumstances, we will only replenish water, in the absence of a request. If you want a change of sheets, towels or turn down service, please let us know when you come in for breakfast.
All your meals will be served at the White Water Café, which has both indoor seating, an outdoor verandah, and even an outdoor deck. Bar evenings are outdoors on the deck. Our cutlery and plates are UV sanitized, and our team will serve you at the buffet. Please wear masks at all times except when at your table, mandatory while getting served at the buffet, and please carry it with you at all times. Please use them unless you are in your own bubble.
Please wash your hands often and cover your sneezes. Try and use your own washrooms as much as possible even though ours are clean and fit for use. We have fun activities planned, you have one activity a day included during your stay, and we have a week-long menu for you.

Where is Atali Ganga located?
We are spread over 3 acres of hillside overlooking the Ganga and surrounded by reserved forest, 30 kms from Rishikesh on the Badrinath road in Uttarakhand. Click here to see our Location on Google Maps
What exactly does Atali Ganga offer?
We have 22 air-conditioned independent cottages including 3 family units, a café & restaurant, conference room, swimming pool, climbing wall and a high ropes course. We are an ‘activotel’ and offer holidays built around outdoor activities to keep you busy from all day. All our activities are conducted by qualified Activity Officers (AOs).
80% of the property is built on a hillside, and you will have to walk a series of steps to reach your cottage. If your group includes infants, small kids and infirm elders, do request for cottages closer to the Cafe.
Is Atali Ganga for my family or my team?
Atali is ideal for families, schools and organizations who want to experience the great Indian outdoors from the comfort of a resort setting. We are built on a hillside and all cottages involve a bit of a climb to reach. But we are sure this will add to your outdoor experience.
We have no TVs in our rooms. But there is one in our lounge for big match days, movie screenings etc. Since we are surrounded by reserved forest, we discourage loud music, and appreciate if you do the same. Unplugged performances are welcome.
What about the kids?
Kids with a sense of fun and adventure will love being here and we promise they will not want to go back. We offer structured and supervised outdoor activities for kids above 6, including climbing, hiking, kayaking, pool time, birding and astronomy.
We also have tons of indoor games and books for kids of all ages. We do not offer structured activities for kids below 6 and they should be under the supervision of at least one parent at all times given the hilly terrain.
What are the timings of White Water Café?
Our White Water Café operates only during regular meal times, not 24X7.
The timings are:
Tea: 7am onwards
Breakfast: 8am to 10am
Lunch: 1pm to 3pm
Tea: 4:30pm to 6pm
Evening Snacks: 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Dinner: 8pm to 10pm
What do I need to carry?
- Warm Clothing (depending on time of year, see temperature chart below)
- Wind/rain proof jacket (see rainfall chart)
- Good strap–on sandals – something which will last the trip. If you have a good pair of sandals, that will suffice. Or, spare sneakers/flip flops will be handy for camp.
- Socks and Shoes/Sneakers for hiking, biking & High Ropes Challenge
- Sun Shade/Hat
- Sunscreen/Sunblock with SPF 70 and above
- Vaseline/Lip Salve
- Insect Repellent (July- September)
- Long trousers / long shirts / T-shirts etc.
- Quick drying shorts and Dry-Fit T shirts for river activity
- Swim suit for ladies and trunks for men
- Sunglasses with eyeglass retainers
Note: Though our staff will take your bags to your cottages do try and get duffels, soft tops etc please.
Any cancellation received within 31 days prior to arrival will incur a charge of 50% of the booking value. Any cancellation received within 14 days prior to arrival will incur the full period charge. Failure to arrive at your hotel will be treated as a no-show and no refund will be given. In the event of premature departure, the full extent of the stay as originally booked and confirmed will be charged.
We understand that we can be faced with unforeseen and very challenging situations including but not limited to due to inclement weather, snow and ice conditions, political restrictions, travel bans, epidemics or pandemics, or any other cause.. In such cases, we will allow a one time date change amendment without any charges, uptil one year from the date of the original booking. Any difference in tariff will be borne by the client. This flexibility will be available to those bookings where we have received 100% payment.
Price Inclusions – Atali Signature Package
Cottage rates include 3 meals, (Lunch through b’fast), evening tea & cookies, pre-dinner snacks, pre dinner soft drinks, 2 activities a day including 1 rafting trip during a stay and all applicable taxes.
Exclusions
- Transport Charges from Rishikesh or Dehradun Airport
- Drivers can be accommodated at Rishikesh / Byasi or Kaudiyala, we have no facilities for accommodating drivers at Atali, Ganga. You are welcome to bring maids, standard cottage charges will apply.
Check-in/Check-out Policy?
Please note check-in time is 12pm, and check-out is 10am. Please plan your activities, and travel to and from Atali accordingly. If you are rafting on your day of departure, you would need to check out before leaving for the trip.
By Road
Delhi to Atali Ganga
Driving Time: 6hrs (with a short-breakfast break)
Note: Try and leave Delhi between 4-5 a.m as driving time increases beyond 6 hours due to morning congestion in towns like Modinagar and Roorkee.
By Air
This is fastest and most convenient way of getting here, especially for guests who are not from Delhi and wish to get to Atali Ganga with little fuss. With 4 airlines – Spicejet, Indigo, Vistara & Air India flying to Dehradun from Delhi and with connecting flights from all the major cities in India reaching us has never been easier. We are 1 hr and 30 mins from the airport.
Note: Pickup from the Dehradun Airport can be arranged by us.
By Train
Atali Ganga is 1.5 hours from the closest railhead at Haridwar. The morning Dehradun Shatabdi from Delhi or the overnight Mussoorie Express are both convenient ways of getting here.The Mussoorie Express gets you here on time to enjoy a full day after a good night’s sleep on the train.
