What to Pack for a Rishikesh Adventure Trip

What to actually pack for Atali Ganga by season -- winter layers, summer essentials, and what the resort already provides so you do not have to.

Atali Ganga is open year-round, including through monsoon and winter, and each season genuinely changes what you should pack. Here is what to bring, based on when you are visiting.

Winter (November to February)

Mornings and evenings get cold in the Ganga valley. Pack warm layers: jackets, sweaters, thermals, and a light cap for the chilly early hours before the sun is fully up. Days can still be pleasant, so layering matters more than one heavy coat.

Summer months

Pack light, breathable clothing suitable for warm days. The river and shade keep the property cooler than Rishikesh town, but daytime sun is still strong.

All-season essentials

  • Comfortable outdoor clothing you do not mind getting wet or dusty
  • Sturdy, closed footwear for trekking and uneven hillside paths
  • Swimwear, for the pool and kayaking beach
  • Sunscreen
  • Personal medications
  • A camera, for the river, the rapids, and the hillside views

What you do not need to bring

PFDs (life jackets), helmets, and all rafting and kayaking safety gear are provided by the Aquaterra river team. You do not need to arrive with your own equipment for any water activity.

Monsoon note

During monsoon season, there can be occasional landslide risk on the mountain roads leading to the property. The team monitors conditions closely and advises guests accordingly, so check in with them if you are travelling in this window.
