When the Ganga is open for rafting and kayaking at Atali Ganga, and what changes season to season.

Atali Ganga is open year-round, but the river itself has a season. Here's what actually changes through the year.

July to September: rafting and kayaking pause

Water activities don't operate during monsoon, when the Ganga runs high, fast, and unpredictable. It's a real operating rule, not a formality, guest safety takes priority over running the day as planned. The rest of the property, cottages, dining, spa, guided hikes, stays open through this window.

October to June: the river is open

Outside monsoon, rafting and kayaking run as normal, with conditions shifting gradually rather than sharply through the season. Post-monsoon (October–November) the river runs fuller and faster. Winter (November–February) brings cold mornings and evenings on land, but the rafting programme continues unaffected, guests should pack warm layers for the time off the water. By late spring, water levels ease as the season moves toward the next monsoon pause.

Planning around it

If rafting or kayaking is the reason for your trip, book outside July–September. Everything else about the estate, the cottages or Foresterie villas, the White Water Café, the spa, runs the same all year. For what to pack for whichever season you're travelling in, see our seasonal packing guide.
